The emblem’s accuracy was surprisingly on target. The mood, my world view are all represented on it. I have a wish to learn about things and the mesh between Che and my attitudes are similar to just my own. Through this image of wide scope I see my train of thought and my experiences becoming one and assembling who I am as a person.

The logo that appeared in my emblem represents the perpetual traveler. Through the journeys presented on all three narratives, the trek was significant. Even more so important, however, was the learning process and experience gained in the journey. Che, Luke and I are all travelers.

Insights

I discovered how stubborn and immature that was of me back in the day, not wanting to learn something someone was showing me for no other reason than for me to learn something. I acted exactly my age, which wasn’t a good thing. Nowadays I try to be on the other side of the spectrum, trying to learn something and pick up on things whenever possible. Che took this to the extreme and flat out dropped everything in his life to search for himself across the Western hemisphere, which would have been awesome to do, but there’s the issue that now it’s been done before. And also, the CIA will murder you if you do.

Difficulties, Concerns, Directions

The main difficulty was adapting to the wabi-sabi way of thinking to make connections. Once I began to see the patterns emerging though, I followed these to create my image of wide scope. The main difficulty was finding the pattern in the first place. Examining through old memories and then trying to piece these together with Che Guevara’s life and a Star Wars movie was a bit of a stretch, but a connected stretch nonetheless.

Mood

My mood with life is one for adventure, because every day there is the chance for self-improvement and learning. Every day, you get the chance to become something better than what you are. You can learn any tiny detail about something. The next, something else. In some time and with some effort, those small details will build up to a mastery on the subject. It’s what makes us human and what makes us eventually into adults. Once we are wise and experienced enough, we can become the mentors of others and embark on yet another journey, this time catching a glimpse of our own naive beginnings.

Morality

Before I learned to want to learn things, I would just accept how they worked blindly. It is important to be observant and to listen. Ignorance is not a virtue. Che’s curiosity and thirst for knowledge compelled him to abandon medical school and eventually ditch his medical kit for a pistol once he knew what his calling in life was. Che felt that there was something elsewhere that was happening and he knew that if he would only take the time to listen that he would learn about it. I couldn’t go on ignorant forever and needed to listen to those who would help me like Che did.

Spiritual (Tenor), Metaphysics

The underlying message in each of my narratives is to take the time to smell the roses as you are on your way, because these experiences shape you. Take the time to learn and listen to sights and sounds, to become wiser from it. The end result isn’t important, it’s what you’ve gathered from the journey, even if you fail. Even if I had listened to my grandfather and tried to learn how the bike works and gotten it wrong, it would have been a more appropriate and wiser thing to do than ignore him like I did. That drive for exploring the inner workings of things has stayed with me.

Atmosphere

When I saw the bike in my family mystory, the bike stood for adventure. I couldn’t wait to hop on and expected not to have to learn anything about it before I did. It was my immaturity that almost got me hurt. In my entertainment story, the x-wing is an obstacle and a test for Luke. Luke’s failure symbolizes he is not ready to get back on his “motorcycle”. He needed to learn a bit more before taking on his journey.

Attributes

The one-seat vehicle means there’s no room for anything else but the journey. Bikers are known as the modern day cowboys or the last remnants thereof. They take on the road because that’s their only home or because they haven’t found home yet, wherever that will be. It’s a symbol of the maturing process and a symbol for change. With those usually come learning experiences that change one as a person.

Che was completely transformed by his trip around South America on a motorcycle. It was the catalyst to become Ernesto “Che” Guevara. Most historians agree that this journey Guevara embarked on across South America led him to become the man the world knows him as. He absorbed the land and its people as he traveled the road on his motorcycle.

Material Thing

The most prevalent prop that kept surfacing throughout all of my mystory was the vehicle, whether bike, motorcycle or star ship. They are needed for the protagonists to embark on their journeys and play a pivotal role in their respective stories. Luke needed to master himself before he could master others, and to prove his prowess he had to make the x-wing rise out of the water using his training, although he failed. Che Guevara had his trusty La Poderosa that took him through a portion of his trip across South America. My bike was very important in my family mystory because just the fact I had recently gotten it challenged me to take on the hill, which would lead to my maturing and learning experience.
